Job Description

Our government client is currently seeking a Computer Application Support with the following requirements:



-Secret Security Clearance




·         Applying standard Windows 7 image;

·         Installation of COTS and custom applications;

·         Delivery and setup of new workstations and or thin clients;

·         Retrieve old equipment and delivery to Inventory;

·         Troubleshooting of new workstations and/or thin clients and end-user locations once installed;

·         Configure user desktops with new printers and test printing at every location;

·         Providing advice and assistance to users in response to identified difficulties;

·         Provide demo to users;

·         Escalate more complex problems to Senior support personnel to expedite resolution;

·         Troubleshoot and resolve network problems;

·         Create problem and resolution logs for help desk activities;

·         Ensure technical support liaison between end user staff and senior information systems technicians;

·         Emulate or reproducing technical problems encountered by users;

·         Collect, organize and maintain a problems and solutions log for use by others;

·         Updating of forms and/or electronic database




·         Education:

o   Secondary school diploma is required

o   Certificate, diploma, or degree in computer science or other relevant field from a recognized post secondary institution is required


·         Experience:

o   Minimum of three (3) years experience providing desktop computer support services in a

o   Windows XP or Windows 7 environment, connected to a Corporate network including but

o   not limited to installation and troubleshooting of peripherals (printers, scanners, etc.) and

o   software;

o   Experience in configuring, troubleshooting and operating common Microsoft operating

o   systems and office applications, hardware and software in a Windows environment;

o   Experience working in a Service/Helpdesk, Call Centre or Client Support or similar

o   environment providing technical support services;

o   Experience providing technical assistance, services, training and advice to clients on-site or

o   by phone;

o   Experience analyzing and evaluating technical problems and proposing solutions;

o   Must be able bodied and able to lift up to 20kg and transport equipment on handcarts and

o   wheeled flatbed carts inside and outside between buildings; and

o   Must have flexible working hours Monday to Friday.


·         Asset Qualifications:

o   Current and valid certification MCP, or MCSE; and

o   Certification in ITIL
